The nearby Montagne Noir (Black Mountains) also offers many cycling possibilities. Many of the well marked walking trails (GR & PR) are accessible to mountain bikers and leaflets detailing these routes will be available in each gite.
The local area comes alive on a Sunday morning with people of all ages donning their lycra and setting off for a long cycle ride. The area around Tourouzelle is excellent cycling country and it is easy to can get off the main roads and travel through the local network of attractive back roads.
For the keen cyclist it is possible to drive to the Pyrenees and climb the most gruelling cols that form part of the Tour de France.
Each year the Tour de France passes nearby and for 2016 the stage from Carcassonne to Montpelier on 13th July should see the cyclists passing very close to us. The following day starts from Montpelier and gives an over opportunity to watch the race.
