Gite Coquelicot (Poppy) is named after the ubiquitous poppies that grow in the area in spring time. Legend has it that the name of the village even derives from this, as the area was Tous Rouge (all red) and so was named Tourouzelle. Coquelicot has two bedrooms, a mezzanine sleeping area and two bathrooms and can comfortably accommodate 4 people.
Access to the gite is via the large decked terrace that overlooks the swimming pool and walled gardens, which are framed against a backdrop of the hills behind the village. The terrace is set up for outdoor dining and has a sturdy table and chairs and gas barbeque. There is also a retractable awning, to allow for protection from the sun in the heat of the summer.
From the terrace you enter the spacious (32m²) lounge, dining and kitchen area which has wooden floors and a high vaulted ceiling with exposed beams. There is a comfortable sofa and seating area, flat screen TV, DVD and MP3/iPod docking player, an indoor dining area and a fully equipped kitchen with cooker, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. WIFI internet access is also available.
Leading from the lounge is bedroom one (15m²), which has a comfortable king-size bed, chest of drawers and wardrobe. French windows lead from bedroom one onto a private terrace with views of the hills behind the village. The large en-suite bathroom has a bath, powerful shower, WC and basin.
Stairs lead from the lounge to a large galleried landing, which overlooks the living area. There is a day bed which can be used for general relaxation, and which can convert into a king-size bed. The mezzanine can also be screened off from the main living area to provide privacy, when required.
